Fall is the season for romantics. With warm colors, shades of yellow, orange... Even the different shades of brown bring charm to the landscape.
On the island of Groix too, autumn is the season for romantics. Besides these colors, which contrast with those of the spring, there is a very pleasant atmosphere.
The end of the high season
Summer is over; tourists are becoming rarer, the ocean has cooled, the days are getting shorter... The temperatures are still mild, even if the evenings are getting cooler. Without going so far as to denounce the Breton summer heatwave, I would almost go so far as to prefer the mildness of autumn to enjoy my walks. Because yes, autumn in Groix is the season for walks: along the coastal paths, on foot or by bike. The colors decorate the heights of the island, the morning sun offers a superb picture to dawn walkers. In my eyes, nothing equals the spectacle of the first hours of the sun: it has a pink tint which creates majestic contrasts with the environment of the island, whether the point of view is from the Pointe des Chats, the Trou de Hell or Pen Men.
When the weather is clear, the view stretches all the way to the continent. For the more sailors, the crossing can always be done by sailboat. Fishing enthusiasts will also be able to enjoy themselves, dressed in a little wool and a Kway. You never know, even if it is known, in Brittany it only rains on… ;).
Enjoy the pleasures of Brittany
Yes, I'm romantic, and I love autumn in Groix. Because Groisillons are also more available. Tired of the long summer season, but proud of their island. Proud to introduce it to the last visitors who, like me, come to enjoy the last beautiful days of the year.
The pancakes are still just as tasty, the kouign amann is even better enjoyed just warm. We can also go to Parcabout, still open to young and old during All Saints' Day. Ending the visit, we take a detour to the Ti Tudi Breizh boutique where you can directly purchase “made in Groix” products: salted butter biscuits, teas with original flavors or even tableware, to give as a gift or for yourself. to please.
Ideal for a weekend or All Saints' Day holiday with the family
To get some fresh air after the start of the September school year but also for the All Saints' Day holidays, the island of Groix remains a good idea. So yes, the friendly evenings passed to the Garçons du Port, who often finished at the Noroît, are becoming rarer. Depending on your preferences, you can limit yourself to dining on a wonderfully fresh fish at Les Alizées, or a refined dish at the restaurant Le Cinquante in the Bourg. And we're waiting for next summer, to meet up with friends...
